Gratitude

In the spirit of our Thanksgiving holiday later this week, we wanted to express our gratitude for the Zentangle Community and share with you this gourdgeous blog from 2021.

--- + ---

Gratitude (noun) is the feeling of appreciation or thanks.

We talk about gratitude often. It is not a coincidence that it is the first (and last!) step in the Zentangle Method. It is something we strive to practice in everything that we do. One of joys of gratitude is that this feeling is felt all over the world. Much like the Zentangle Method, it transcends borders, cultures, languages and backgrounds.

From our hearts to yours . . . Thank you.

  • There are so many beautiful ways ‘gourdeous’ has been used. What an inspiration. Thank you.

  • I am incredibly grateful for Zentangle each and every day. The process has brought me joy and comfort and the friendships that I have made, worldwide, have enhanced my life. I struggled to pay my way to the CZT training, and I have recouped that 10-fold in new experiences and people. Thank you for sharing that gift with us.

  • I’m so grateful that I discovered Zentangle and that it has become such an integral part of my artistic life and practice. I’ve made friends around the world that I never would have met otherwise. Cheers to you all!

  • Thank you so much for this beautiful post! Gratitude is an essential part of my life and I have so many things to be grateful for including the Zentangle Method and all of my wonderful Zentangle friends. Wishing all of you at ZHQ a wonderful Thanksgiving from our home to yours! ❤️

  • Plant gratitude and joy grows. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to become a CZT this year! The Zentangle family is truly a blessing that sheds peace, tranquility, and light.

  • I have so much more to be grateful for since last year! I am grateful for the opportunity to attend CZT39 via Zoom. It was quite an experience! I am in awe of the connection we had with other tanglers all over the world! What an amazing thing the Zentangle method is, that it transcends physical, geographical, political, religious, national, international, even language barriers, to bring so many people together in harmony! And the Mosaic allows us to maintain that connection after the event is over! I get goosebumps just thinking about what power for peace and harmony there is in this method! Who knows? Today Zentangle; tomorrow World Peace? One can only Hope! Thank you, Rick, Maria, and the entire Zentangle family!

  • Beautiful Thanksgiving reflection. Thank you! Thank you for all of you at Zentangle Headquarters. It is wonderful to have such an inclusive place for all of us to land and share our beauty. Zentangle is so inviting of everyone everywhere.

Thank you Maria, Rick, Martha, Molly, Julia and all those would work with Zentangle.

  • Thank-you, Thank-you for re-posting this from last year. The message that resonated most strongly for me today when re-reading it, was how universal the feeling of gratitude is – we can all feel it, all over the world. We all have the ability to recognise and feel the abundance in our lives, whatever forms that takes. Zentangle was the beginning of my journey in gratitude and for that I am eternally grateful.

  • Hello Gourdgeous!
I’m talking to all of the beautiful souls at ZTHQ and the beautiful community they have birthed. My gratitude is deep for both. You have changed my life and my students lives and their students lives. I hope you realize how special you all are.

  • Sometimes a zentangle can express what words cannot. Awe-inspiring to see the joy and fellowship that the concept and practice of zentangling has brought around the world. Bless you all.

  • The Zentangle Method has taught me many lessons, but most of all the one of being grateful and appreciative of all the little and big things that make my life what it is. Zentangle itself is one of the big ones. I am forever thankful to you for that. Much love, Anica

  • Hi Rick and Marie, girls, all of your family and our Zentangle family!! I am blown away by the gratitude tangles you featured from around the world. I thought it was most interesting how each interpretation of gourdeous reflected the culture each artist was from!!! Frilly France, colorful Spain, architectural China and Russia, Fall U.S. and England so similar (our heritage), to list only a few. Very nice! Thank you for sharing those!
    HAPPY THANKSGIVING to y’all!!
    Haha. I live in Alabama!
With love and gratitude always, 🙏
