We find it impossible not to fall in love with every Zentangle Project Pack each time we complete one. Aside from the hundreds of hours spent working on it, the excitement and energy from the Zentangle community fills us with so much passion and gratitude, it feels like we can never top that particular one... until the next one!
With that being said, everyone connects with a different Project Pack in a different way and for a different reason. For me, personally, Project Packs are often cemented in time with what else was going on in my life, or in the world, when we were in the middle of creating that pack. I fall in love with each Project Pack not only for the materials and techniques explored, but for the feelings that are tied to the pack.
After pulling all of the data to find out what Project Packs were all of your favorite Project Packs, I asked everyone here at ZHQ what their favorite ones were.

Maria: Zentangle Project Pack No. 5: Cartouches is my favorite! I have long been adorning photos and memories with tangles, so this one was near and dear to my heart.
The Project Pack Materials for PP05 have been retired, but we have put together the Cartouche Box, allowing you to follow along with the video lessons. Available while supplies last.
Molly: How can I choose just one? No. 8, 19, 21 and 22 are at the top of the list.
Project Pack No. 8 is definitely an unsung hero for me. It really pushes the boundaries with gel pens and pencils in unexpected ways. The tiles are complex and the colors pop off the tiles. My mom does one lesson where she challenges herself to demonstrate the same combination of tangles on nine different pre-strung Zendala tiles. It's magical, inspiring and really makes you look at the materials in a new way.
Project Pack No. 21 feels like a whimsical, tangled fairy tale. It somehow makes you feel like a child again by unleashing this dialogue of silly storytelling behind each tangle. The compositions feel like old relics, and I just find them all so beautiful.
Project Pack No. 19 is more of a proud teacher moment for me. This is a true "Anything is Possible One Stroke at a Time" project. It was fun to watch students power through the lessons and be left with something so remarkable. I just really loved watching that process.
Project Pack No. 22 was one I personally loved because of the specific compositions. I love geometric imagery, and it was fun to come up with lessons that wrapped that into the tangling process.
Martha: Zentangle Project Pack No. 19 is one of my favorites because it gave me a lot of confidence as a tangler.
Julie: Project Packs No. 22 and 30 are tied for runner-up, but No. 23, the Illuminated Letter, has to be my favorite. It is framed and hanging in my house.
Jen: I feel like this is asking me to choose my favorite child. They are all my favorites because they are special in their own way! No. 09, I am emotionally attached to, and it is gorgeous! No. 04 and No 10. once done are amazing references. No. 14, so soothing! No. 17, the mosaics! No. 18 took away the unknown of how to tangle translucen-Z! No. 19, 23, and 29 so empowering to finish a big piece! No. 21 was just pure fun and joy, exuberant is the word! No. 30 - wow, just wow!
Stephanie: I simply love them all! Every time a project pack is in development, I find myself thinking, Wow, this is beautiful! Everyone brings their own unique style, and they all turn out beautifully, each one uniquely its own.
Thiele: Zentangle Project Pack No. 26 will always hold a special place in my heart - the first Project Pack after I joined the Zentangle family. I remember watching each video... in awe of the results and the endless possibilities that pre-strung tiles give us.
Jean: Zentangle Project Pack No. 18 is my favorite. I love the Translucen-Z tiles and being able to tangle on both sides. This Project Pack is a wonderful introduction to working on this surface.
Rick: Whatever the most recent one is. Seriously. The energy surrounding each series as it is happening is meaningful.

I agree with Rosemary Bogan, and Debbie New, I was thinking of the botanical field guide, when I first started reading the blog, and then the mini journals jumped into my head from nowhere! Owning the mini journals is something I have dreamed about off and on for years! And the extra spurts of creativity needed to make the botanical field guide were sooo fabulous! And some of the other packs with new and/or different materials have also caught my fancy, like this last PP with the blotter tiles! All of the packs are AWESOMETASTIC! And I too want to add my heart-felt THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

I like Jen’s response the best because it’s me too! I don’t have just one favourite pack, I like all the ones with mini-journals because these are so precious. The amount of planning, designing, thought into each of the mini-journals is truly evident.
Thank you for continuing the Zentangle blog too – I had found Z over 12 years ago through blogs. In this era of fast social media, I feel a bit homesick for our blogging era. The realm of Z-related blogs, and the CZTs and tanglers I have met along the way reading and writing blogs, will always be an unforgettable part of my Z journey – permanently ‘zemented’ – in my mind! Thank you always for all you do and everything you share with us.

I love love love Project Pack 5!! I love sharing photos with friends and family and the cartouche make them extra special. I love taking an heirloom piece of jewelry and framing it. These are just so beautiful and wonderful to share.

I continue to love the complexity of PP22 with all the spirals. It’s the first one I did and it helped me to discover Zentangle. I’ve always put spirals in my drawings so this exploration really spoke to me. When I did it the first time I didn’t have the PP materials but I loved the invitation to follow along anyway. I’ve recently purchased it and am going back to the videos with the confidence now to do my own thing with them. I’m also doing this PP with my 93 year old mother and with another friend that I recommended it to.

Project pack 09 is my favorite! Using 6 Zendalas to create a larger intertwining piece of artwork felt amazing and green is my favorite color so it felt like an exciting calmness. 🥰

I am really enjoying project pack 30. I work with an individual who has chronic fatigue and very limited ability to function. I go to her house three or four times a week for approximately 20 minutes and we tangled together. She bought project pad 30 for both of us and we’ve been working on it gradually over the past few weeks this gradual process one stroke at a time has really brought me back to the foundations and fundamental principles of the Zentangle method as well as giving us the opportunity to work on a wonderful new surface.
