Welcome to Day 3 of the 12 Days of Zentangle! Enjoy! One of Alfie's favorite Zentangle steps is shading the shading with a tortillion.
He is particularly thrilled with his new tortillion which he discovered in the laundry room. Someone left a tortillion in their pocket and it went through the wash. It's a little blunt, but it works wonders to smooth out the graphite on your tile.
Apparently, Alfie felt that what Rick created yesterday needed a bit more contrast!
On this third day of Zentangle, Maria prepares a wadical plate of festune before she ventures to tripoli to see the fabulous florz.

Three more tangles that I rarely use—and one, tripoli, that I have recently rediscovered and love to use on my pottery. I find that using one shape to suggest the next to be so relaxing!

Totally mesmerised watching Tripoli evolve with so much character & Festune was magical. Nice to see Alfie getting involved with shading but had to smile over the Tortillion finding it’s way into the washing machine!

My prepped spinner apparently looked so much like a “radioactive” symbol, that my husband quipped, “don’t bother the tangler”. My muse-bear Roosevelt is watching each day’s progress, as excited as I am to see the results!

I discovered the fun of drawing Wadical a few weeks ago, and have used it in nearly every tile since. Very glad to see it here.
And Festune, too! I’ve seen it drawn so many different ways that I’m glad to see the original Zentangle Official version!

My husband glanced at my desk last night and wondered why I was making the old TV sign-off symbol 😄

Just watched the video during my lunch hour from work. It’s just as relaxing to watch others tangle as it is to do it!! I almost want to reschedule my dinner plans to come home and work on day 3!! 😉

I’m so happy to start Day 3. I must admit I am saving the video for this evening when I can stream it onto my TV and then work along with you. P.S. Loved the prep idea. The watercolor wash give the spinner added interest and good separation.
