Fifth Day of Zentangle 2017

"On the Fifth Day of Zentangle . . ."

On the fifth stroke of Zentangle
R and M circled back,
to striking black Zendalas

The addition of the Zendala tile was huge hit. The many options of this beautiful surface whether blank or pre-strung, were an instant favorite among tanglers.

It did not take to long for the requests to come pouring in, "What about black Zendalas?" So in May of 2013, we released the black Zendala in both blank and pre-strung. This tile is cut using the same die as our original Zendala and is made from the same paper as our 3.5 inch black tiles.

And today in honor of our fifth day in our 12 days series, we offer you a lesson that combines black and white Zendala tiles.

Enjoy!

  • I have not tried the black zendala tiles, but they look like fun.

  • My mind is just jumping with ideas and ways to use this. I can’t wait to see what everyone has done with these. My project pack arrived today and I am eager to catch up, but I’m thinking that I am going to take my time and if it takes me more than 12 days, so be it!! This is such a busy time of year, and I just don’t want to rush any of these. Each and every day has been a wonderful present.!

  • That really did turn out special. I like tangling in the spaces created by the kissing mooka and getting black areas without having to ink them all in. I’m also imagining doing the paste over with other sizes and shapes of tiles. I suppose there’s no reason the two pasted together tiles even have to be the same size and shape if one likes the shape of the “leftover” spaces. Lots to play with.

  • Oh my. I just finished the day 5 videos. Amazing. I start my holiday vacation Wednesday. I decided I am going to wait and do some of these then so I don’t feel rushed to get them done. More Zen. Really well done.
