Project Pack .04 -- 12 Days of Zentangle - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Zentangle!

Enjoy!

Alfie was fascinated with what Martha created yesterday. This morning, we found him on our dining room table with a magnifying glass taking a closer look!

On this second day of the 12 Days of Zentangle, Rick takes the pen to show us how he can hurry diva dance while IX and knase get wrapped up in a serious case of cadent.

  • You two are such a pair! I get a kick out of your banter and storytelling. And I love drawing along with you! Thanks, as always for this great gift. (And if you ever tire of making ZT videos, you could do a sort of George and Gracie routine;)

  • Lovely lovely, can’t wait until I get my own spinner done… and prepared for tangling! :-)

  • Wow! So many little tips! Fun and Helpful way to “beef” up my favoriate tangles!

  • It´s great to see in a video how someone else approaches a tangle. When I draw Diva Dance I draw the line and set little ladybugs (similar to Crescent Moon but smaller) in random distances and then the next line …. and so on. Your approach leaves the opportunity to fill the bumps with little orbs or stripes …. I will keep on playing with this approach :) Thank you!

  • I love working small and this is just to my taste!

  • I’ve looked forward to this all year! I’m really enjoying seeing old tangles and making friends with new ones. Thank you for this seasonal treat!!

  • I’ve started work on my piece to follow along with your Twelve Days. It’s a much smaller area of paper than your spinner, so I’m having to work small, little tastes of your chosen tangles. Rick’s steady pace helped remind me to slow down which made the small scale less cramped feeling.

  • I really enjoyed this lesson’s review of some of the older , original tangles.

  • I loved doing the watercolor shading on my spinners and can’t wait to add tangles each day. The first two days of tangles look awesome.

    Karen Thayer on

  • Really enjoying the videos, some new tangles for me :)

    Debbie on

  • New to me Diva Dance … what an interesting pattern to practice. With the shading, it has interesting look. And IX! Oh my! I think next attempt I’ll use fewer lines & the shading should make it pop ; )

  • I have to agree with many of the other commenters, that these are definitely a few of my favorites. Rick has a “technical” way of drawing, which is actually how I learn best. Thanks for the lessons!

  • I needed a little more instruction on this one…I’m an advanced beginner but I had a little trouble following Rick, especially with Diva Dance. I don’t know why that tangle is so hard for me. Thanks for Day 2!

  • I am really enjoying watching you tangle & shade. Watching Rick helps me to slow down.

I love this project! At this busy time of year it is doable. A calm escape for a bit of the day.
    Thank you all!

  • I appreciate how deliberately Rick draws his lines; it helps me to remember to do the same. Love how the divas dance together!

    Beth Lovelle on

  • Aloha…So happy to have the videos…just like being in class with you again

    Lois Stokes on

  • I love watching you guys tangle!! It inspires me and I am such a visual learner that I more deeply understand these tangles! Cannot wait for what tomorrow will bring :)

  • Another gorgeous wedge of the spinner for day 2! I,too, enjoyed learning the origins of the tangle names….a couple of things struck me. I think it’s interesting that the tangle IX has the same triangle as “rIXty” and this weekend when I was teaching a class a student called the tortillion a “tortellini”….which Maria mentioned tortillion in French means wound & twisted — very much like the tortellini!! So many connections!!
    Looking forward to day 3!

  • Hurry is my favorite! Can’t wait to try Diva Dance!

  • Day 2 and still strong. Had fun with the lovely tangles.

  • I am so enjoying using tangles that I don’t often use…I am grateful for the opportunity to bring them back to the front of my practice. It is also interesting to learn where some of the names come from!
