A Look Back at 2025!

A Look Back at 2025!

It is hard to believe another year has come and gone, and what a year it has been! As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for the Zentangle Community and the peace, calm and camaraderie that you bring.

2025 was a special year for us and we got to share that with you in so many different ways. Let's take a look...

This year was the first year that we shared with you the Zentangle Tangle of the Year! For 2025, we honored the tangle huggins!

One of our favorite ways to connect with the Zentangle community is through our blog, YouTube Channel and Zentangle Mosaic app. In 2025, we shared 59 blog posts and 58 YouTube videos, including Zentangle Project Packs, tutorials and our second International Day of Zentangle! You all joined us in thought-provoking, problem-solving, and Zentangle-inspired conversations.

Today, we are sharing the content that you all enjoyed the most.

First up is the top 5 blogs of 2025. If you've already read them, we think they are worth visiting again. If you missed these the first time around, they are not to be missed!

  1.  Wax On. Wax Off - April 8th
  2. Bijou Inspired ZHQ-isms - June 10th
  3. When in Doubt, Aura - August 5th
  4. Hey, Chat GPTMarch 11th
  5. MantrasNovember 4th

A few honorable mentions were Finding the Elegance of Limits and Again and Again

On the Zentangle YouTube Channel, you all joined us 1.3 Million times this year!

The videos you enjoyed the most this year were:

  1. Zentangle Project Pack No. 26 - Day 3
  2. Zentangle Project Pack No. 26 - Day 7
  3. Bijou Be Well 2025 - Day 1
  4. International Day of Zentangle 2025
  5. Zentangle Project Pack No. 27 - Day 1

We released 3 Zentangle Project Packs this year, and you enjoyed Zentangle Project Pack No. 26 the most with over 211,000 views.

On the Zentangle Mosaic App, you all uploaded 27,376 tiles. WOW! That is a lot of tangling. All of that tangling would equal 1.6 miles of 3.5" square original Zentangle tiles.

We shared THREE new tangles this year with you all

As part of our annual Bijou Be Well series to honor Mental Health Awareness, we shared with you 24 new Bijouisms!

Over the course of four CZT seminars in 2025, Zentangle, Inc, and our partners, Created With Love (Taiwan) and Conzentric (Europe), certified 462 Certified Zentangle Teachers! You can find a CZT in your area here.

In April of this year, we hosted zenAgain, a CZT Reunion event. 396 CZTs joined us in person and online for this much anticipated event!

In February of this year, we welcomed a new member of the ZHQ team - Thiele Donovan! You may have met Thiele at zenAgain 2025 or CZT 43 - taking pictures and providing online support for CZTs. She is also the face behind some of our blogs, newsletters and behind-the-scenes magic. We are so happy to have her!

We asked some of the team what their highlight was this year.

Jen: Ooh, this is hard, but I am going to choose CZT 43! I can never say it enough, but tanglers are some of the nicest, most genuine people I ever meet! I love the chance to have meals and coffee, chat, and hear people's Zentangle journeys. Watching the friendships form, the bonding, really, truly, human connection is what it is all about. So, thank you all CZT 43 graduates, you made my year brighter!

Thiele: One highlight of 2025 was completing my 200-hour training and becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher this past summer. I find so many connections between the Zentangle Method and yoga philosophy. I am looking forward to weaving the two practices together over time.

Stephanie: Highlight of 2025 was certainly zenAgain 2025. It’s so wonderful to connect with all the amazing CZTs I usually only exchange emails and phone calls with. A special bonus was having our friends and partners from CWL, Tanglekunst, and Artizen join us at zenAgain. When most of your interactions happen over email, getting the chance to meet in person, share a hug, and chat is truly special. CZTs are an extraordinary, uplifting community, and when you gather such a large group together, the experience is simply magical!

Martha: My highlight was the 1st inaugural zenGala in Mystic, CT. Everyone brought their "A" game ("Z" game?), and we dazzled and twirled in a tangled tapestry.

Julie: This past year had so many highlights, but welcoming my daughter to our family in March was by far the brightest moment. I was also deeply humbled and moved by the love and support that the ZHQ and Zentangle community poured over me at that time. Grateful for you all!

As we look back at 2025, did you have a favorite blog or series that is not listed here? What did you love most about 2025, and what are you looking forward to in 2026?

Happy New Year from our family to yours!

Stay in touch.

  • One of the absolute highlights of my 2025 was attending ZenAgain 2025.

From the moment I arrived, I felt deeply welcomed, grounded, and reminded of why I fell in love with Zentangle in the first place. After years of teaching and holding space for others, it was profoundly meaningful to be in a space where I could simply learn, tangle, listen, and breathe.

Reconnecting with Rick, Maria, Molly, and Martha in person was incredibly nourishing. Their authenticity, generosity, and ongoing curiosity continue to inspire me, and it was powerful to witness how the philosophy of Zentangle keeps evolving while remaining so deeply rooted in its heart.

Just as meaningful was the sense of community. Sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with other CZTs, sharing quiet moments, laughter, stories, and ink-stained fingers, filled my cup in a way I didn’t even realize I needed.

Looking ahead to 2026, ZenAgain didn’t just inspire me for a few days, it re-anchored my practice in a lasting way. For that, I am deeply grateful.

  • For me my Zentangle highlight in 2025 was zenAgain. Having done CZT training online back when there was no in person option, this was my first time meeting so many CZT friends from around the world in person. What a special time it was. I keep up with so many in online gathering and classes now. It is a wonderful and strong connection. Tanglers are the best people, as Rick and Maria always say. If it wasn’t for zenAgain, the highlight would have been two Zentangle weekends at Kripalu.

  • I was thrilled to have been able to travel to, and attend, ZenAgain for the first time. I was certified in 2016 so it was a nine year journey of saving for that trip. I was excited to meet so many people I had only met online but already felt they were friends. Such a wonderful experience. Here’s to 2026!

  • I just “discovered” (rediscovered really, but truly tried for the first time) Zentangle this summer. I love it!!! It has helped me relax, and has bolstered my confidence in my artistic/creative abilities. Yesterday was a particularly rough day, and doing a little tangling in the evening helped calm my mind just a bit. Thank you for this wonderful gift!!!

  • By far, the highlight of my Zentangle year was being at ZenAgain! Magical is not adequate to describe the experience of being in person with lovely and creative humans I have know online for years. The joy, the creativity and inspiration, the kindness and authenticity of each and every one made me know even more that Zentangle is so much more than drawing. Thank you, Rick and Maria, and all of you who bring people together through shared creativity and kindness!💙🖊️🌀
