International Day of Zentangle

Hello, everyone.

I am now adding “idoz”, and it’s tangleations to my list of favorites; plus, on my list I should have also added “Well”, “Betweed”, and “Vertigogh”. I like to start out with my go-to tangles; the basic ones then dive into advanced ones; adding tangleations, embellishments, and color.

I am honored to meet zentangle on its twentieth anniversary in my lifetime. Although I couldn’t meet zentangle earlier, it’s not too late now. I hope to create new patterns to share with you all. I love Zentangle.

It was amazing to join you live, along with 3000 amazing Zentangle lovers from around the world, to tangle Idoz. What an historic and inspiring way to celebrate 20 years! I can only imagine how inspiring it will be to meet you at CZT 42 in November. Love to you and the entire Zentangle team on this awesome accomplishment. Perhaps you’ve already noticed that the new pattern, Idoz (International Day of Zentangle), can also stand for “I DO Zentangle!”

It was so nice to be able to join in a live stream with the two of you again. I had the pleasure of being in the very first online certification CZT36 during COVID-19 November 2020 What wonderful celebration for 20 years of Tangeling and spreading joy. I haven’t tangled in quite a while but this opportunity reawakened the meditation aspect of Zentangle which I have been missing. Taught my first class in quite awhile & my student,11, is & super excited. :) I shared the YouTube video with her. Thank you for sharing!!!

Here in Tasmania I planned to join in around midnight with great anticipation.
This was shattered after having to attend three days of cancer related specialist appointments which left me exhausted.
How totally THRILLED I was to be able to see you all on the recording. All my fears of the last few days were forgotten completely as I picked up my pen and became excited about the new commemorative tangle #idoz which you shared. “Thank you” is just not enough.

It was so much fun to tangle again with both Maria and Rick as wells as all the tanglers who joined from around the world. It’s amazing that this is all possible; that we can connect via live events. When I became a CZT many moons ago, I could only meet other tanglers at seminar or those I’d taught. Amazing how the world changes!!

Watched at 3:00pm. Loved the entire concept and teaching. Even the comment are amazing…in so many languages! It will be my tangle time after work tonight. I like the simple/complex approach. Thank you.

Me sentí como en Providence en 2017 con mis compañeros del seminario CZT26, pero esta vez acompañada de más de 3000 enredadores unidos en gran hermandad desde todos los lugares del mundo. Fue un evento grandioso que me llenó de emoción y me motiva a seguir enriqueciendo mi creatividad con las virtudes que ofrece Zentangle como una gran filosofía de vida.. Seguiré trabajando los ochos pasos con mis estudiantes introduciéndolos a esta manifestación de arte sencillo pero maravilloso. Gracias, gracias, gracias nuevamente, los abrazo con gran afecto y admiración desde Bogotá, en Colombia, mi país..

Congratulations on International Zentangle Day and for the tangle deconstructed for the occasion, it is very organic, very fluid and gives many possibilities I celebrated it by uploading to networks, content that I had prepared for this day, playing with emotions, Zentusiasta emerged 3 years ago, when I certified as Czteu5, I created an hymn with the instrumental base of a Spanish singer and a poem by a great Spanish’s poet.

Tangler@ are your strokes the road and nothing more

and when I look back
you can see the traveling tile is that you sent further

Congratulations on your anniversary! You spread joy around the world.

IDOZ 2024 was the first online event I have attended related to Zentangle. I took what I learned and sat down with our 8 year old granddaughter to teach her how to do a similar project. We exchanged our artwork in the end, so we each have some precious items!

When asking her what she would like to use as her intention, she put initials for her two cousins. Love it!

Thank you is a small word for all that you have done for us dear Maria and Rick along with Molly, Martha, Julie and the whole zentangle team. I am so so grateful that this is part of my journey in this lifetime. It is always so beautiful to watch both of you create magic on paper and on our screen with your art and love. So so grateful to be able to share this with others and see the magic of zentangle transform their lives. Lots of love to each of you. 💕

Such a wonderful thing you did for me. I started tangling Aug. 2023. It literally saved me. I’ve never had a favorite tangle, now I do. Maria, so good seeing you tangle again. Bless all of you.
