It is hard to believe another year has come and gone, and what a year it has been! As we look back on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the Zentangle Community and the peace, calm and camaraderie that you bring.
2024 was a special year for us, as we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Zentangle Method! In the beginning of the year, we embarked on a year long celebration and you all eagerly joined us for the ride.
One of our favorite ways to connect with the Zentangle community is through our blog, YouTube Channel and Zentangle Mosaic app. In 2024, we shared 55 blog posts 68 YouTube videos and our very first International Day of Zentangle celebration! You all joined us in thought provoking, problem solving, and Zentangle inspired conversations.
Today we are sharing the content that you all enjoyed the most.
First up is the top 5 blogs of 2024. If you've already read them, we think they are worth visiting again. If you missed these the first time around, they are not to be missed!

- International Day of Zentangle - July 16th
- An Ode to Zentangle - July 9th

A few honorable mentions were The Counting House, Storm Z and Tea Time.

On the Zentangle Mosaic App, you all uploaded 29,540 tiles. WOW! That is a lot of tangling. All of that tangling would equal 1.6 miles of 3.5" square original Zentangle tiles.

Zentangle found me in 2024 and introduced me to an amazing mentor and new friend who encouraged me to become a CZT. I have gratitude (my ‘word’ for the year) and new direction for 2025!

This year I traveled through the 20th anniversary celebration with renewed gratitude for the Zentangle method and all it has brought me. The highlight of my year was being certified at CZT42 seminar in Newport. And thanks for including the photo of me and my friend/fellow CZT42, Shannon Flynn in this blog post!

In January of 2024 we finished revamping a room in our house to turn it into my art studio. I started tangling in 2023, but really got into it in 2024, doing quite a few of the project packs and some big tangling projects of my own. My goal was to learn how to do this thing called Zentangle and then take the CZT training in November – which I did and thoroughly enjoyed! I started working with the students in our gifted program and teaching them how to tangle as well as the teachers. We were able to give Apprentice kits to all the kids which was very exciting – they loved opening them! I retired in May and have been spending all hours of the day in the studio. My favorite thing was the CZT training and second favorite was the project packs. I’ve just learned so much this year and am so happy to get back to the core of my being which is art, art, art. (Also taught my first class to adults and they’ve all signed up for a 5 week class, so that’s exciting too!)

My favorite thing this year was having one of my online students becoming a CZT … and yesterday we met for lunch in person! We tangled and took a walk looking for for patterns. It was a perfect way to wrap up the year.

Some of my very best Zentangle moments of 2024 were the 12 days of Zentangle project pack 25. All my tiles are beautiful and I will frame them! I’ve shared them with friends and family already. I’ve done other project packs in the past, but never followed one day by day all in order. It was a very satisfying experience experience so thank you for that.
In 2025, I am looking forward to continue to teach at our senior center here in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I have an advanced Zentangle workshop there quarterly, three Fridays in a row. The participants look forward to it! I am always happily surprised by their creativity and enthusiasm! I also teach beginnings Zen Tangle workshops here and there throughout the year.
I remember my first workshop I taught in January 2019, shortly after I came home from the Halloween 2018 graduation. In Providence. It’s been an exciting journey and will continue to be so. Zentangle has helped my health as well as my focus for life!

What i am looking forward to in 2025 is setting a greater amount of time aside for tangling. We’ve had a stressful 20 months in which we lost all 4 of our parent, the last being just before Thanksgiving at the age of 100 years, 5 months. Tangling kept me sane during the toughest times and gave my mind a place to rest and be calm and recharge. In 2025, I am going to try to re do at least the first 13 project packs (I always have purchased at least 2) as well as what ever new ones get launched. Then in ’26 I plan to finish 14 through 25 and whatever is new that year. It is a commitment to my self. One I feel good about.
I am very grateful to all of you at HQ who make all of this possible and so happy you reached this 20th year milestone of bringing beauty to this world one stroke at a time

I also loved all three of this year’s project packs. I have not completed them as yet but am enjoying doing them in my own time. The thought and effort put into these beautiful project packs is astounding to me and I am grateful for that and the inspiration each one provides.
