Zentangle Project Pack No. 25 and the 12 Days of Zentangle 2024 - Day 9

Zentangle Project Pack No. 25 and the 12 Days of Zentangle 2024 - Day 9

Harold, Nomi, Zander, Marasu, Alfie, and Icso are preparing to attend 12 tangle parties to celebrate the 2024 Twelve Days of Zentangle.

Each day the elves decide what to bring to these most festive affairs. Look closely in the picture each day to see if you can find all the items they brought. (They do seem to move things around!)

On this Ninth Day of Zentangle, Harold is bringing a party hat, a feather, a notepad, a pumpkin, a thimble, a watch, eye glasses, a bottle of ink, and a bowl of soup!

Can you find all of these items?

The Santa quartet that Rick carved years ago seem to be enjoying themselves way(bop!) too much!

--- + ---

Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 25 and the ninth day of the 2024 Twelve Days of Zentangle!

In our practice of drawing with the Zentangle Method, we build compositions using patterns we call tangles. In the beginning, we learn basic tangles and then we progress by learning new techniques, more complex tangles, and variations to basic tangles.

In Project Pack No. 24, we paid homage to the technique of “Aura.” In this project pack , we take a deep dive into "drawing behind" which plays an integral role in how we teach many of our tangles. We guide you through a journey of depth and dimension. In this adventure we explore shadows and traverse our tangled compositions adding highlights. Join us on this multi-dimensional tangled adventure!

Tangle along with Rick as he and Maria guide you through the ninth lesson in this series.

Please share your creations on the Zentangle Mosaic App using the hashtags:
#PP25
#PP25Day09 and
#12DaysofZentangle2024.

In this series, we use the materials in Zentangle Project Pack No. 25. If you do not have these materials, we encourage you to follow along with whatever you have at home.

Leave us your thoughts in a comment below and each day, we will pick one commenter at random to receive a Zentangle surprise. We will announce all the winners on the last day!

  • There are so many beautiful and diverse patterns, but I also love going back to basics. From the basic patterns you can make so many wonderful compositions

  • The party hat is by Icso’s right shoulder, he has the notepad between his two legs & his right foot on the pumpkin. The feather is behind Harold who is also holding the bowl of soup. The bottle of ink is balanced on the flute as you look upwards from Icso’s hat & just to the left (as you look at the picture) of the ink bottle is a wooden image with a blue hat & white beard & I think the thimble is in his beard. Alfie has the eye glasses balanced on his lap & Marasu is holding the watch in her left hand just by the ‘9’ tile.

  • I like this drawing behind flux. It has a different look to it than just filling in the space you have.

  • I recall that Rick carved his flute at some point in his artistic path, I don’t remember reading that he carved these figures as well. How fun is that?! Well done Rick. 👏 Life is so fun, thanks for sharing your fun with us all and adding to my own ❤️

  • Hello, everyone!

I have been following your 12 Days of Zentangle for a few years now but this year is special. I became a CZT EU8 at the beginning of December, just in time to celebrate my ‘graduation’ and your 20th year with this wonderful project. I still can’t believe this dream of mine has come true. I am the 4th CZT in my country as the Zentangle method is basically unknown in Romania. Well, I intend to change that as much as I can, that’s a promise!
I suffer from chronic migraine and for years Zentangle has been one of the few comforts during crises. I am sure other people in my situation could benefit from its healing effect and I am determined to try and help as many as I can through Zentangle.
I am grateful and happy to be part of the worldwide Zentangle family. Happy anniversary!

  • Flux is one of my favorite tangles.
Sometimes a little wayward when it grows out of control, but always welcome.
