We often talk about the Zentangle Community and what a wonderful and supportive worldwide community it is. At CZT Seminars and Zentangle classes, we get the honor and the privilege of meeting members of this community, learning their stories and watching the bonds that they create with each other. It is something that we do not take for granted here at Zentangle, Inc. It is something we treasure and hold dear to our heart.
It was about ten years ago this year that we sat down and asked ourselves how we could connect people from around the world, share Zentangle art and foster this community that we love so much. We also wanted to create the world’s largest Zentangle mosaic.
Over the next few years, we worked to develop a mobile app. We had big hopes for how the app would be used but, like always, the Zentangle community has surpassed our wildest expectations.
In 2016, we launched the Zentangle Mosaic App. Zentangle Mosaic™ brings together a worldwide, supportive, and sharing community of Zentangle artists.
It is a place to inspire and be inspired through this interactive application. Upload your work and admire the work from artists all over the world. Organize your tiles into mosaics. Search for tiles by type, tangle and geography. Communicate with tanglers, teachers, and students.
The Zentangle Mosaic app is a treasure trove of inspiration and creativity. Every day that I open the app, I am instantly met with beautiful artwork from artists worldwide. Whenever I am feeling stuck or in a rut, I open the Waterfall and watch the tiles change over again and again. Almost always something catches my eye – a tangle, a technique or just an overall feeling I get from a tile. It is just a little something that sparks enough creativity for me to put pen to paper and soon I forget why I was stuck in the first place.
The truly special part about the Zentangle Mosaic app though, is the people you find on it. As someone who has been a member of all kinds of social media sites over the years, I can say with the utmost confidence that there is nothing else like the Mosaic app. It is the most positive, supportive and uplifting app on my phone and that is all because of YOU, the wonderful users.
The users posting and interacting on the app are there because they want to be there. They love the Zentangle Method and believe in what it stands for and you can feel this in the way that people interact with each other. That same feeling of comradery and support that you feel at a Zentangle class, retreat or CZT seminar, somehow translate over into the online community.
Every day, I feel honored to be a part of this community. I will see you on the app!
Zentangle Mosaic Scavenger Hunt
We decided that it would be fun to go on a Zentangle Mosaic App Scavenger hunt!Using the Waterfall, Search and Advanced Search features (available to subscribers), find a tile that fits the following criteria and leave a comment on that tile sharing something you appreciate about that tile. You can also include the scavenger hunt question number you are searching for. For example: “SH1.”
- Find a tile with your favorite tangle on it.
- Find a tile with the tangle that challenges you the most.
- Find a tile tangled by an artist from your country. If you cannot find someone in your country, choose a country you would like to visit.
- Find a tile with Lady Aura in it.
- Find something that is not a tile that is tangled.
- Find a tile with a tangle that is new to you.
The Zentangle Mosaic App is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play store for Apple mobile devices and Android smart phones.

Love the Mosaic app! 💜💕 First thing I look at in the morning also! So encouraging — especially as a newbie to tangling. I learn something every day, and I have made so many new ZT friends Thanks so much!!
