Zentangle Project Pack No 22 - The 12 Days of Zentangle 2023 - Day 07

The following text was translated by Rick from the tap tap tapping "voice" of Bijou.

Bijou writes:

On this festive seventh day, Martha and Molly are turning 'round and 'round on this coiling, spiral string. Thanks to Zander and Icso for bringing all the supplies they need to tangle this beautiful surface.

Nomi wonders, "How do they tangle without getting dizzy?" I feel compelled to offer my wisdom and calmness, "Not to worry my friend, if you focus intently, you will see there are only 3 lines. Now, it is easy to relax and breathe and enjoy the ride!"

We look forward to enjoying all your beautiful interpretations and the whirling mosaics to come.

The crew here is basking in this series. Nomi got out out some of the plastic spiral straws leftover from my last birthday party and Zander thought it would be funny to put a sping on Lamby's tail. All part of the phun here!

Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 22 and the seventh day of the 2023 Twelve Days of Zentangle!

As so many of you tangle enthusiasts know ... The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns that we call tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves, and orbs. There are a few tangles in the history of the Zentangle Method that are known more and used more often and manipulated more than others. Their forms are basic, resilient, familiar and they have the potential to be so much more in so many ways.

This project pack will take a deep dive into one tangle and all that it stands for. As usual, we are taking a very creative, outside the box approach to this fun theme.

Tangle along with Molly and Martha as they guide you through the seventh lesson in this series.

We are very excited about the content we have for this Project Pack, but we also realize that we have packed a lot in to the twelve days. So, we wanted you all to know that it is OK to take it all in at whatever pace you need to. If you have not already, take a look at Molly's most recent blog on tangling at your own pace.

Day 07

Please share your creations on the Zentangle Mosaic App using the hashtags #PP22 #PP22Day07 and #12DaysofZentangle2023.

Share your thoughts in the comments below and each day, Bijou will randomly select one commenter to receive a Zentangle surprise! All winners will be announced in the final blog of this series.

  • Completed Day 6…my favorite so far. I loved working on the new 5xPhive tile…so much room. I even had room for a gemstone at the bottom!

  • YAY!

My PP 22 has just arrived!
We hope you will be offering this set of spiral prestrung tiles, (along with a few blank 5xPhive tiles) as a collection from the Zentangle store. The new tiles and this color pallet are delightful. Thanks for all of the work that went into this project pack! Holiday wishes to all as we ‘spiral’ towards a new year!

  • I spent about two hours on this one – at least 20 minutes of it just drawing tipple! I hope these pre-strung tiles will be available after the project pack (I could draw all those circles myself, but it’s nice to not have to!)

  • I have learned to ‘embrace the shake’ with my tremor. It actually looks better to me now that I have accepted the look. Thanks for showing us a non-smooth line as a beautiful option. 👏

  • What a delight to watch mooka dancing around the spiral! I loved watching this video and it reminded me of the mooka tile that Maria did during my seminar. It was on the back of a phi!
