Thank you to everyone who joined us for our third annual International Day of Zentangle! Three years ago, we wondered what it might feel like if tanglers around the world paused at the same moment to put pen to paper together. Today, that idea has become a cherished tradition. Once again, thousands of you joined us from every corner of the world, gathering across time zones to celebrate creativity, connection, and the power of the Zentangle Method.

This year, we tangled polypoli! Polypoli is a distant cousin of the 2026 Tangle of the Year, tripoli. Tripoli is constructed by assembling triangle shapes together in a unique way where the shapes correspond to one another but never touch. Instead you have a subtle space between the shapes that adds to its overall appearance. Polypoli is constructed in the same way but instead of using just triangles, you can use other polygon shapes. By incorporating three, four and five sided shapes, you get a whole new effect. And like tripoli, this tangle is an amazing reticula to be filled. Experiment with different fragments and watch how the tangle morphs.

Whether you missed this mornings live stream or want to relive the magic again, the replay is now available here!
As always, we are humbled and grateful for this remarkable community. Thank you for welcoming the Zentangle Method into your lives and for sharing it with others around the world. Every tile you create, every class you teach, every moment you pause to tangle adds another beautiful thread to this ever-growing story.
We hope you'll continue the celebration by sharing your creations in the Zentangle Mosaic app and on social media using #IDOZ2026.
Until next year... when we once again stop at teatime to tangle together. Happy International Day of Zentangle!
Even my senior classes loved my Tripoli that went “astray” more than creating Tripoli! LOL. Talk about a Lesson!
