CZT Family Tree - Kathy Rosenow and Michelle Aalbers

CZT Family Tree

We always say that the Zentangle Method attracts really awesome people. We have had the pleasure of working with wonderful Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZT) all over the world and we are excited to share these wonderful people with the entire Zentangle Community. Through our series, CZT Family Tree, we will introduce individual CZTs.

Today, we are excited to introduce Kathy Rosenow and Michelle Aalbers! They teach together, so they decided to do this interview together!

-----+-----

Names: Kathy Rosenow and Michelle Aalbers                        CZT#: 24

Hometown:
Kathy: Ramsey, MN

Michelle: Brooklyn Park MN

Favorite tangle:
Kathy: ‘nzepple and gneiss and ING and …. Where do I stop?

Michelle: Crazy Huggins. This changes on a regular basis. How you can you pick just one?

Favorite place to tangle:
Kathy: At the kitchen table, looking out into the woods

Michelle: Outside and while traveling

How I use the Zentangle Method in my life:
Kathy: For tapping my creative energy and calming my racing mind.  And, through teaching, to share my passion and build community.

Michelle: All the ways! Stress reducer, creativity amplifier, meditation, lessons in non-attachment, being present and the list goes on.

My favorite story or memory about teaching the Zentangle Method is:
Kathy: Teaching a multi-generational class and watching the joy unfold for all ages.

Michelle: Watching students discover the magic of the method and, on a personal note, using the Zentangle Method to actually get out of the pain in my body when a necessary surgery was weeks away.

Through my experiences as a CZT, I have learned:
Kathy: See ‘mistakes’ as opportunities for different outcomes and discoveries; we don’t get to erase mistakes in life, we only get to turn them into new possibilities. Live in the moment and have faith in the process and the future. Embrace the journey. Believe always in possibilities. Show yourself the same kindness that you show others.

Michelle: “Anything is Possible One Stroke at a Time” is 100% true and hard for people to believe until they experience it. It is a joy and an honor to share this with others.

If I’m not tangling, you will find me...:
Kathy: with my family or friends, reading a good suspense novel, making music with my praise band, on an adventure or plotting my next one!

Michelle: Spending time with family and friends, giving or receiving Thai massage, doing yoga, connecting with nature and traveling.
