Harold, Nomi, Zander, Marasu, Alfie, and Icso are preparing to attend 12 tangle parties to celebrate the 2024 Twelve Days of Zentangle.
Each day the elves decide what to bring to these most festive affairs. Look closely in the picture each day to see if you can find all the items they brought. (They do seem to move things around!)
On this Fifth Day of Zentangle, Alfie is bringing a party hat, a feather, a notepad, a pumpkin, and a thimble!
Can you find where Alfie put them?
Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 25 and the fifth day of the 2024 Twelve Days of Zentangle!
In our practice of drawing with the Zentangle Method, we build compositions using patterns we call tangles. In the beginning, we learn basic tangles and then we progress by learning new techniques, more complex tangles, and variations to basic tangles.
In Project Pack No. 24, we paid homage to the technique of “Aura.” In this project pack , we take a deep dive into "drawing behind" which plays an integral role in how we teach many of our tangles. We guide you through a journey of depth and dimension. In this adventure we explore shadows and traverse our tangled compositions adding highlights. Join us on this multi-dimensional tangled adventure!
Tangle along with Molly and Martha as they guide you through the fifth lesson in this series.
Please share your creations on the Zentangle Mosaic App using the hashtags:
#PP25
#PP25Day05 and
#12DaysofZentangle2024.
In this series, we use the materials in Zentangle Project Pack No. 25. If you do not have these materials, we encourage you to follow along with whatever you have at home.
Leave us your thoughts in a comment below and each day, we will pick one commenter at random to receive a Zentangle surprise. We will announce all the winners on the last day!

Alfie’s thimble looks more like a tankard to me.

I share the audible and enjoyable sensation of a group of people shading , the sound of the pencil and tortillon it is an energy that is perceived and enjoyed
The explanation of the fragment and the grid is funny using the simile of what came before the chicken or the egg. The grid should come first because it is where we put the fragments, or mini tangles

I taught a beginning class today, and the first thing I told the class was- “Everyone needs Zentangle right now. After this class is over, I predict all of us will be practicing a lot in the days to come.” What a great gift to give ourselves at this crazy time in the world!
So fun

The new phi tile looks so elegant! I need to get them soon ;)! A very pretty way of doing foundabout as a reticula!

Foundabout is one of my favorite tangles. And Molly and Martha always find ways to come up with new ideas to make this tangle even more beautiful!

Thank you on behalf of my students at Natomas Homeschool alliance in Sacramento, California. Little did I know when I became a CZT that sharing something so simple (understatement) would change the lives of so many of my students. Zentangle is now one of the most popular classes at NHA!
I have shared my love of art in schools as a parent volunteer and instructor since 1984, when my son entered Kindergarten. Zentangle is, by far, the best way to teach the fundamentals of art to children in a happy, playful way. From the sheer simplicity of the tools to the whimsical names of the patterns, the children love it all.
Thank you, profoundly, from the bottom of my (Zentangled) heart.

I love when 12 days of Zentangle begins! How much fun it must be setting up the scenes! It took me a bit to find the thimble today! How clever! Cannot wait for tomorrow! Happy Holidays!

I am delighted that the Christmas elves from Zentangle are growing in number step by step. Just like the CZTs.

20 years ago, my husband, 2 boys and I spent a summer with our Aunt in Wayland, Ma. I had recently ran across Zentangle and I found it was ‘born’ in Massachusetts, so knowing I would be in Ma that summer, I looked for an instructor. I found one in Worchester. For the life of me, I can not remember her name but she was amazing. She was taking a break that summer but knowing I was coming in from Missouri, she invited me to her home and held a special class just for me. That afternoon changed my life! I carry my own curated zentangle “kit” with me every where I go, for you never know when inspiration will hit. I love that I can do a tangle and it will make me think of memories… like learning poke leaf while sitting in a hotel in Pa. I see tangles every where I go. The art deco display at The Art Institute of Chicago.. the pattern on the cloth in a booth at a local restaurant. I have purchased every Project Pack, they are amazing and I love that even with 20 years of tangling, there is always something more and exciting to learn. Thank you all for making such a huge impact in my life. Wishing all of you a safe, warm and Happy Holidays!
