Hello!!!!! Let me introduce myself.
My name is Alfie, and I have been asked (once again) by the folks at Zentangle to help out with their annual “12 Days of Zentangle.” It is (and has been my job in the past) to introduce each day’s video in some fantastically fanciful fashion to prepare you for the wonder-filled excitement that will follow.
They even got me a new hat this year. I must say, it’s a bit ‘over-the-top’, but an improvement nonetheless. So . . . without further ado, let me present to you “The Twelve Days of Zentangle” for 2020.
In the first video of this series, we will acquaint you with a somewhat-new tangleation, one that Maria has used in the past, but never formally introduced to us. She is calling it “bronx spear(s)” and, as you might guess, it is related to the tangle bronx cheer. She usually draws these in multiples, like poke leaf and such, but it is also strong enough to stand on its own. She is sure tanglers the world over will welcome this tangle into their troupe of favorites, even when it is not covering a so-called “miss stroke“ of your pen!
Enjoy, my friends. I look forward to tomorrow’s bounty.

Welcome to the Project Pack No. 12 and the first day of the 12 Days of Zentangle!
It goes without saying that 2020 will go down in history as remarkable year. This year we all experienced the unexpected, the unknown and the uncertain. There were challenges that required our patience and strength in order for us to contribute to what the world needed.
In our Zentangle practice we encourage you to embrace the unexpected, the unknown and the uncertain as a part of your creative process. We encourage you to look for opportunities and to shift your perspective.
As we bring a close to a pivotal year in history, Project Pack No. 12 will offer us a magical time of rebirth, restoration, and awakening. We are excited to begin this year’s 12 Days of Zentangle, that we are calling the 2020 Zentangle Renaissance.

Lovely art, here. I’m looking forward to playing with Bronx Spears as well as adding the shimmering gold to the Renaissance Zendala. ~ Rose

A day filled with Zentangle. First taught a 12 year old to make a card for her grandmother, then participated on a winter wonderland class by CZT Nancy Domnauer via Zoom and just finished Day 1 of PP12. No better way to spend a day ❤️

As usual – loving the project pack! Especially love anything involving gold. Good new tip about twirling the brush. Always do that as I clean my brush after using, but now realize there are lots of other twirling opportunities while using it. Thank you!

First, I have to say Alfie’s new hat is amazing ! The bronx spear has a lot of technique to it and I will be practicing it. Thank you for doing the 12 Days of Zentangle.
