International Day of Zentangle 2025

International Day of Zentangle 2025

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the International Day of Zentangle! For the second year in a row, we were able to celebrate with tanglers from all over the world! Thousands of tanglers joined us from near and far, at all hours of the day and night as Rick and Maria taught a tangle to celebrate the occasion.

This year, we tangled huggins together - the 2025 Tangle of the Year!

If you missed our live stream, you can watch the replay here.

We are humbled and warmed by all of you who joined us to tangle together. We are grateful for all of you who have been part of this Zentangle adventure during the past twenty-one years.  Until next year . . . when we all stop at teatime to tangle together again.

You still have time to get your limited edition IDOZ Apparel! Shop these tangling styles here

Let us know in the comments how you celebrated the International Day of Zentangle and what it means to you. We will choose a few commenters at random to send a gift to.

Be sure to upload your tiles to the Zentangle Mosaic App with the hashtag #idoz2025

EMERGE: A Zentangle Foundation Fundraiser

Since 2017 the Zentangle Foundation has funded scholarships, supported Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZTs), and supported research as it continued to grow. Born out of a generous donation by Judy, a CZT, The Zentangle Foundation shares the same passion for the Zentangle Method as Judy.

We are excited to announce what has turned into a breakthrough emerging year. What does that mean? It means while we continue to support the scholarships and calls for materials, the demand for the Zentangle Method as a therapy has grown substantially across the world.

For example,

  • In our own backyard, McLean Hospital, one of the foremost psychiatric facilities of its kind in the world is a recent Zentangle Foundation grant recipient.

  • Across the world in Egypt, demand is coming from hospitals and museums to implement Zentangle as a therapy and educational tool.

In order to meet these demands we want and need your help. What you give goes towards both the current initiatives and the long-term strength of this foundation. This ensures a future where the Zentangle Foundation can support the world-wide art therapy community, build new partnerships with local and national non-profits, and continue supporting CZT’s on the ground.

Join us as we take the next step to become a foundation that is here to meet big demands. You were here for our inception. Please support us as we EMERGE and bring the gift of the Zentangle Method to all who can benefit from it. You can learn more about the Zentangle Foundation, including how to donate, at zentanglefoundation.org.

  • Vivo in Italia ma ieri era il primo giorno di vacanza sull’isola di Ibiza e l’ho dedicato a voi. È stato bello sentirsi connessi con il mondo, presi per mano da voi! A presto!

  • I left Maine for Atlanta yesterday to join my two sisters (from Nashville, Pittsburgh) for our second annual sisters’ week. How wonderful that we were all together to tangle with Rick and Maria this morning! Thanks to Maria and Rick and everyone at Zentangle HQ who helped pull together this amazing celebration.

  • Thank you for creating the International Day of Zentangle!!! This was sooooo much fun!! I promoted this on my TangleAddicts.com Facebook page and group. Normally, I have a class on Tuesdays at 11am EDT. SOOOO, I decided to start it early and then go right into our class – so we were chatting on both. Some didn’t see the announcements, so more ended up coming to the party. Here is a link to the screenshot we took: https://tangleaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/IDOZ2025.png Thank you again!
